Three years ago, we started the community garden at our church with a small group of volunteers.  We have expanded the community garden to grow food and the harvest is shared with the church community (including sick and elderly shut ins) and ministries including Bluffs Food Bank (a collaborative effort between neighbourhood churches) and Rainbow Community Places, which runs 2SLGBTQIA+ drop in centres for youth and seniors.

Our philosophy of gardening is to work with the land as opposed to disrupting the natural process of soil fertility by using chemicals.  Basically organic gardening is having a partnership with nature.   We implement various organic practices to improve the quality of the land.  By doing this we are creating a vital, alive soil, which will produce vital and alive vegetables.

Volunteers are always welcome!  The workbee sessions (volunteer days) take place on Sundays & Mondays, from 3 - 5 pm during the growing season (May to October).

Garden tours and garden workshops about organic gardening are held throughout the summer.

Our community garden is located beside the church at 33 East Road.
