Special Worship Services

BBUC focuses its worship following the Church Calendar, offering a special time during Easter and Christmas, but we also have other specific events like Remembrance Day and when world events impact us and others.  Led by our Minister, we celebrate, share, pray, and are blessed in our journey.  Complemented by our Juno winner Minister of Music, we also share our voices in celebration and prayer.

Shower Curtain Productions

During the Easter Season, the Church School children and Church member adults who share a flair for acting and singing recreate the Easter Story.  What a moving and powerful opportunity to see, hear, and feel the Easter story in a very real way!  This drama is usually held on a Saturday evening and the community as a whole is invited to attend.  Date and time of the production is posted each year in the Upcoming Events section of our website.

On the Second Sunday of Advent, the focus of our service is the dramatization of the Christmas Story.  The story has been told forwards, backwards, from a modern perspective, and other creative aspects as produced and directed by our Church School leaders – Jessie Gordon and Marian Martin.  The actors and actresses are our Church School children and adults of the congregation with an interest in acting and singing.  Every year the congregation looks forward to the creative presentation of the Christmas Story.  Come join us.

Annual Fundraiser for Toby's Place

Our first Annual Fundraiser for Toby's Place was held at The 519 Ballroom on February 10, 2017.  It was a funny-filled night of sketch, improv, and standup comedy directed by our own Music Director, Randy Vancourt, who brought together some of Toronto's best sketch, improv, and standup comedy artists including:  Kathryn Greenwood, Teresa Pavlinek,  Robin Duke, Debra McGrath, Neil Crone, Peter Wildman, Leslie Seiler, John Moore, Jennifer Walls, Aastha Lal, and Shannon McDonough.  The event was hosted by Maggie Cassella.

SpringFests and FallFests

Our semi-annual sales of bazaar-like items, knife-sharpening, great food, and baked goods allow us new opportunities to have the local community reminded of our caring, fun, and joyful spirit.

Christmas Miracles Event

An annual fundraiser held mid-December for the Bluffs Food Bank – a wonderful evening of Christmas stories and music.

Church Anniversary Dance

An event to celebrate the anniversary of the amalgamation of two churches to form Birchcliff Bluffs United Church and its accomplishments.
